This week marked a transition. My last two days in full-time work are behind me. It wasn't a dramatic exit — just a quiet moment of realising that the way I want to work doesn't quite fit into the old structure anymore.
There's no detailed plan. Just a chance to slow down a bit, focus, and build something that supports learning, reflection, and some sense of direction.
Rebuilding Identity
For those new here — I've worked in software for over two decades, across startups, scale-ups, and platform companies. I've led teams, built products, and helped shape both tech and culture. But this week wasn't about titles or projects — it was about focus.
I've been thinking about what it means to work independently again. What does it look like to contribute meaningfully without the frame of a role or a title?
I started sketching ideas for my personal site — not to sell anything, just to make space for how I want to show up. As a developer, a builder, someone who cares about working with intention and clarity.
Solvi
Solvi is slowly taking shape. I worked on mood tracking and reflective logging this week, aiming for something simple and gentle — the kind of tool I wish I had at other points.
The website is now live at solvi.care. Quiet launch — no fanfare, just the first marker on a longer path.
The idea is to support people in noticing more — without pressure, without noise. Something that helps you reflect in your own time, in your own way.
MCP Logging Server
I also got the first version of the Notion logging server working. It connects tools like ChatGPT to Notion so I can automatically log activities in a structured way.
It's small, but useful. I mapped out the architecture, wrote a basic story test, and explored how to share context between tools. The logs themselves aren't the point — it's about what they enable: slower thinking, better recall, more space for patterns to emerge.
Task Work & Flexible Income
I continued with TaskRabbit and FatLlama work this week — assembling furniture, painting, tracking hours. It's not glamorous, but it's steady. It helps me stay grounded, finish something, and stay connected to real effort and time.
That work also helps create space while I look toward consulting, coaching, and maybe leadership again — in forms that fit better with how I want to work now.
House Renovation
Mostly background progress — budgeting, planning, Notion updates. Nothing major, but it's part of a bigger idea: structure before scale. Laying the groundwork slowly, with enough care to avoid doing it twice.
Looking Ahead
This wasn't a week of high output — more a week of orientation. Focusing on what aligns better. Picking up small tools and habits that might help shape what's next.
The pace is slower now, but more intentional — and that feels like a better foundation to build from.
